With the fate of the TSX to be decided a week from today (hopefully), this may have been my last road trip, but it sure was a good one. Over 3000 miles driving from central Illinois to Columbia, SC (with trips to Greenville, Charleston, and Savanna).
I set a new personal MPG record, 32 mpg. Not bad for a 14 year old car. Also got pulled over, given a warning for “improper lane change” because the turn signal went out where it got hit. Photo dump below:

I think you can still use hand signals in daylight in lieu of a functional blinker

Not sure, not sure if it’ll be totaled or not. I’m hoping they’ll repair it but if not, I’m thinking an Infiniti G35 or Q45 would be a good way to round out the Japanese luxury trifecta

Yeah but that’s annoying when you’re going 70 mph on the highway. Either way, I’m using our 07 Odyssey while I’m at college so my car can get in the shop to decide its fate.

Damn, hope they choose to fix, it doesn’t look that bad!

It’s amazing how quickly it can add up, $2460 and that’s just what they can see, if there’s anything hidden it’s done for

Once I saw that the fender was pinched, I poured one out.

Sucks about the TSX, it’s one of my favorite designs of the era. Any reason you can’t keep it with a salvage title, fix it yourself and pocket the cash? Title status shouldn’t matter (in most states) unless you sell it.
How was the trip? I’m doing Savannah, Charleston, and Asheville in a couple weeks.

Yeah, I don’t think a fender should be inside the headlight nor bowed out

The reason is because it’s a major hassle in Illinois. It’s multiple trips to the DMV and has to be completed by a licensed rebuilder, so I can’t do it at home. Even a cheaper good quality headlight is still $300, fender about the same, plus $250 in fees.
The trip was great, in Savanna I recommend the Owens-Thomas House, if I remember the name correctly. A really neat historical tour. Also if you want a good beach to visit, Tybee Island is 20-25 minutes away and is absolutely gorgeous, as good as it gets on the Atlantic. Charleston, the old french district and market street are the obvious choices. I’ve been to asheville, but it’s been 4 years or so, so I can’t remember anything off the top of my head.

Damn, that sucks. So dumb how its pretty obviously only cosmetic but it still has to be done by a pro... is what it is with an older car I guess, same thing would happen to my truck but it’s a bit easier in NY until its time to sell.
Thanks for the tips! My wife wants to do some tours like the Owens-Thomas house so that looks great. I want to check out Tybee as well.

No problem! I forgot to mention, Savanna Seafood Shack is fantastic, super fresh food. The cajun seasoning they put on a lot of the sides has a some kick to it and it’s also pretty cheap, I had the fried calamari lunch meal and that was only $8. Also if time allows, try to stop by the BMW Zentrum. It’s between Greenville and Spartanburg and it’s only 20 minutes off your route to Asheville. It’s not huge, but it is free.
